Drug Uses
Methotrexate is used for curing of ertain types of cancer, severe psoriasis, or rheumatoid arthritis in certain patients. It can be used alone or with other pills. It may also be used for other situations as advised by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Methotrexate as suggested by your doctor. Take Methotrexate with or without a meal. However, you should take it the same way each time in relation to food. It is recommended to drink extra fluids while taking Methotrexate. It may take several weeks for your symptoms to improve. Don't stop taking Methotrexate without visiting with your doctor. Methotrexate works best if each dose is taken at the scheduled time.
More Information
Methotrexate can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Methotrexate is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Methotrexate with caution. Do not drive or perform other possibly unsafe tasks until you know how you respond to this drug. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your physician. This drug should be used only by the patient for whom it has been recommended. Do not use
less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your physician.
