Drug Uses
Atarax is indicated for relief of anxiety and stress motivated by psychoneurosis and organic disease states in which anxiety is manifested. It can be used for other conditions as recommended by your physician.
How Taken
Atarax comes in pills to take in by mouth. The usual daily dosage for adults is 50-100 mg. Children over 6 years should take Atarax 50-100mg daily in parted dosages. Daily dosage for children under 6 years of age is 50mg divided into several doses.
Additional Information
Atarax can cause dizziness. These symptoms can worsen if Atarax is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Atarax with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly dangerous tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, call your physician. Atarax should be used only by the patient for whom it has been ordered. Do not take less or more or take it more often than directed by your physician.
