Drug Uses
Erythromycin is used for treatment of infections caused by certain bacteria. It is also used to prevent bacterial endocarditis and attacks of rheumatic fever. It may also be used for other situations as advised by your physician.
How Taken
Use Erythromycin as directed by your doctor. To prevent stomach upset take Erythromycin with food intake. Swallow Erythromycin whole. Don't break, crush, or chew before swallowing. Don't eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice while you use Erythromycin. This drug works best if taken at the same times each day. To clear up your infection completely, take Erythromycin for the full course of healing. Keep taking it even if you feel better in a few days.
