Drug Uses
Topamax is used for treating certain kinds of seizures in patients two years of age or older. It is also determined to prevent migraine headache in adults. It can also be used for other situation as directed by your doctor.
How Taken
Take Topamax as prescribed by your physician. Take Topamax with or without a meal. Swallow Topamax whole. Do not crush, break or chew before swallowing. It is recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking Topamax to prevent kidney stones from forming. Suddenly stopping Topamax can cause seizures to occur more often. Stopping therapy should be gradual.

Topamax can cause dizziness, drowsiness, confusion, difficulty concentrating, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Topamax is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Take Topamax with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly negative tasks until you know how you react to this medicine. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, visit your doctor. This product should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Do not take less or more or take it more often than suggested by your doctor.
