Drug Uses
Neurontin is used for curing of seizures associated with epilepsy. It can also be used for treating nerve pain associated with herpes zoster (shingles) infection (postherpetic neuralgia). Neurontin can also be used for other condition as suggested by your physician.
How Taken
Use Neurontin as directed by your doctor. Take Neurontin with or without a meal. Do not take an antacid containing aluminum or magnesium within two hours before you take Neurontin. Do not suddenly stop taking Neurontin. You can have an increased risk of side effects (eg, seizures). If you need to stop taking Neurontin or add a new medicine, your doctor will gradually lower your dose.
Additional Information
Neurontin can cause drowsiness, dizziness, or blurred vision. These effects may worsen if Neurontin is taken with alcohol or certain other medications. Use Neurontin with caution. Don't drive or perform other possibly negative tasks until you know how you react to this pill. If your symptoms do not improve or if they worsen, contact your doctor. This pill should be used only by the patient for whom it has been determined. Do not take less or more or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.
